AcoustaDamp™
Strengthen panels while managing NVH challenges
AcoustaDamp™, as a constrained layer dampener system, expands during the electro-coat process to ensure complete contact between the body-in-white structure and the constraining layer. A heat-activated blowing agent within our AcoustaDamp polymer turns from a sheet into an expanding foam that fills the gap between two sheet-metal panels. Not only does it dampen structure-borne noise and vibration, it’s a lightweight NVH solution that adds strength and stiffness to panels. AcoustaDamp can be tuned by our expert team to meet the specific needs of each application.
- Constrained layer dampener product to dampen structure-borne noise and vibration.
- Heat activated blowing agent within our AcoustaDamp polymer turns from a sheet into an expanding foam that fills the gap between panels.
- A light-weighting NVH solution that adds strength and stiffness to panels
- Viscoelastic layer sandwiched between 2 sheet-metal layers: Layer 1 is base metal panel, layer 2 is our AcoustaDamp polymer die cut to the die cut to the patch shape, and layer 3 is the metal patch layer.
- Top Application areas: Dash/firewall, wheel wells, transmission tunnels, back of pick-up cab, floor pans.

AcoustaDamp Value Proposition
- Constrained layer dampener product to manage structure-borne noise and vibration
- 100% recyclable, localized damping that adds strength and stiffness to panels
- Can be sold as a die-cut sheet or pre-assembled to a metal constrained layer
Quiet strength
AcoustaDamp is a viscoelastic layer sandwiched between two sheet-metal layers: Layer 1 is the base metal panel, layer 2 is our AcoustaDamp polymer die-cut to the patch shape, and layer 3 is the metal patch layer.
